Entry Permit for Mainland Attendees

Mainland officials and personnel who wish to enter Hong Kong for visit are required to obtain an Exit-entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao for Official Purposes and an appropriate endorsement relating to the purpose of entry by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, submitted by their respective organizations. Other mainland attendees need to use Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao to enter Hong Kong SAR, with valid G (Personal Travel) or S (Business Travel) entry permit, issued by Mainland Public Security Bureau Exit-Entry Office of their respective regions.

Visa for Foreign Attendees

Nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong visa-free for a period ranging from 7 days to 180 days.

● 180 days: United Kingdom citizens

● 90 days: European Union citizens, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Dominica, Ecuador, Egypt, Fiji, Grenada, Guyana, Iceland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Kiribati, Liechtenstein, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Namibia, Nauru, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Seychelles, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Tuvalu, United Kingdom other nationals, United States, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Zambia, Zimbabwe

● 30 days: Armenia, Bahrain, Belarus, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Georgia, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda, United Arab Emirates

● 7 days: East Timor

Attendees from other countries/regions might need a visa to enter Hong Kong SAR. All attendees are highly recommended to check the Immigration Department of Hong Kong SAR (https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/index.html) to confirm their visa requirements to attend The 5th International Symposium on Slope Risk and Resilience.
